WELKOM MARIE

2019 - 2022

This series began with the birth of my daughter in 2019. It explores the body that carries, delivers, nourishes and loves. I asked myself who are you, and who am I? It also reflects on the loss and longing that came before her arrival. It is an intimate and honest portrait of what it means to bring a new life into the world. Welcoming her in my work felt like a new chapter is an longer story I had previous been telling: one about belonging, family, and the women who came before me.
